Narrative Exposure Therapy

Finding Healing through Reprocessing
Are you feeling trapped by memories from a traumatic past? Concerned that you'll never be able to "get over" what happened to you? Narrative Exposure Therapy might be the help you are looking for. Differing from traditional talk therapy, NET is a short-term treatment option to help people re-contextualize traumatic events by exposure through storytelling. Session length: 90-120 minutes.
FEE: $180-240 per session*
FAQs about NET
If you have further questions, please contact me using the button below & I will answer as soon as I can!
How do I know NET is a good fit for my needs?
NET is best suited for individuals who have survived complex or multiple trauma events. Or for those who are struggling with active symptoms of PTSD, such as nightmares, sleeping difficulties, excessive guilt or shame, among others. I would also recommend NET for those who have tried traditional talk therapy to address trauma, but are still finding their memories of these events to be overwhelming.
What to expect in NET?
The first session is focused on psychoeducation on the NET process and learning more about the current issues connected to the trauma. Then, we will create a timeline of significant life events, including, but not limited to, all traumatic events. The following sessions will be exposure sessions where we will detail each important event, helping you fill in gaps in your memory, process forgotten feelings, and contexualizing the event in the story of your life.
Is NET appropriate for kids?
Yes! Research has shown that NET is effective for children 8 years or older.
