I often work from a systemic, experiential, emotion-focused, and Internal Family Systems lens. In session, I am interested in exploring the influence my client's background, culture, and family history might have on the issues they bring. At times, I may even encourage the inclusion of certain family members to help clients find more holistic healing for these concerns. I like to incorporate creative outlets, such as art, music, and role-plays to help clients cultivate a different experience of their problems or themselves. In couples or family therapy, I regularly ask clients to interact as they would at home so we all can collaborate on new solutions in real-time.
Clients have described me as compassionate, energetic, and candid. Building an understanding and safe environment in therapy is my top priority. I work hard to create a relationship with clients that welcomes honesty and the opportunity to face challenges together.
I am a pre-licensed therapist under the supervision of Jennifer Imsland, MA, LMFT. I have a Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Bethel Seminary and a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Colorado Christian University. I also received specialized training in Emotion-Focused Therapy and Discernment Counseling.
